High Speed Data Transfer
The increased linear density and precise tape control system deliver a sustained data transfer rate of 2.4 MB/s (assuming 2:1 data compression). It provides a capacity to transfer rate ratio of 10,000:1, making it possible to meet the requirements of MIS managers for a shorter backup time.
Enhance Reliability
The implementation of the new Hyper Metal head can read back data at a higher signal output amplitude than the conventional ferrite heads used in DDS-2 drives. The signal-to-noise ratio is increased by approximately 4 decibels and the error correction rate is also greatly improved.
Patented Head Cleaning Mechanism
A unique patented Head Cleaning mechanism prevents particle accumulation on the heads to minimize read/write errors.
